身為Cabbage family大家族的成員,Broccoli是個又friendly又low-cost又nutritious的healthy food!有些好玩的fun facts一起來看看!
1. 最早大吃“花椰菜”的人:
千年前的Etruscan civilization,當時在義大利半島上的古老文明,當時大吃還是“wild cabbage”,Etruscan堪稱古代的「綠手指」,他們發現這種wild cabbage是有潛力的好植物,可惜當時花苞很小,而且兩年才開一次,他們不斷栽植開始了wild cabbage的變身旅程,當時的wild cabbage是我們現代花椰菜broccoli以及所有“cousins”(Brussels sprouts, kale, cauliflower)的共同老祖宗!
2. Brussels sprouts 的誕生:
大家應該都聽過芽菜甘藍,他一小顆超可愛,就像超級迷你的高麗菜一樣,他長在很粗的莖stalk上,我在英國的時候有買一整根過,為了記錄拍照,很重也要扛回家XD,要煮之前要一顆一顆從stalk上面拔下來,真的是只買一次就夠了(超級不好拔,摳到手指叫媽媽)

你想steam蒸煮, stir-fry快炒, or boil水煮(營養流失很快),都可以。
Few slices of smoked salmon
This is my favorite style:
Serves 2 兩人分享餐
Baking potatoes Few stems of sprouting broccoli
Mixed mushrooms Olive Oil
2 gloves of garlic 2 chives
Salt & black pepper
1 lemon
Parmesan cheese
*2tbsp creme fraiche or sour cream 酸奶油 -It will make everything better!
Nana's Recipe
1. Preheat the oven to 200C. Bake for approximately 20 minutes or until the potatoes are tender.
2. While you steam broccoli, you can stir-fry mixed mushrooms with garlic until golden brown.
3. Remove the potatoes from the oven and toss with a bit more olive oil, salt, and Parmesan cheese.
4. Toss the broccoli with lemon juice, salt and black pepper
5. Layer it up with the potatoes on the bottom, then the broccoli, golden brown mushrooms, and chopped chives.
6. Sprinkle with the salt and pepper. Finish it all with sour cream and a piece of lemon on the side.
